Si Si Rae Supports Kristyna Myles
The career of 2009 MOBO award nominee Kristyna Myles has been gathering momentum for a while.
The launch of her debut album, Pinch Me Quick! comes nearly a decade after she claimed victory in BBC Radio 5 Live’s Busk Idol Competition, bagging herself a record deal to boot.
However, word on the grapevine suggests that the album was absolutely worth waiting for.
McChuills in Glasgow will be the stage for the launch, with a performance of Style Council cover Paris Match sure to be the highlight.
Myles’ version comes with the support of Paul Weller himself, who has expressed admiration for her interpretation. But Myles is also a gifted songwriter in her own right; the other 13 tracks on the album have either been penned by her, or are the result of a collaborative effort.
In terms of the launch gig, it’s fair to say the Leicestershire-born singer has proved herself to be one for the big occasion.
She has toured and recorded with some big players in the industry, including Mick Hucknall, Chris De Burgh and The Wanted, so finally getting to headline herself (a Glasgow first) is something that she seems incredibly excited about: ‘Glasgow is one of the best places I’ve had the pleasure of performing in… to be launching my album at McChuills is an amazing honour for me.’
In short, she is a must-see talent. Si Si Rae provides support.
